该剧改编自古谷实同名漫画，描绘了在深夜超市担任保安的38岁处男富冈与住在他隔壁的美女邻居羽田之间的恋爱故事。有田哲平饰演的是人生一无所有、立志要改变自己，想要交朋友的保安富冈，本田翼饰演希望当小说家的美女邻居。
