电影《白牦牛》是共和县建立影视外景拍摄基地的首部儿童题材母语电影，《白牦牛》是一部以目前这个物欲横流时代，高原人为了生计，在眼前经济利益和传统善性之间徘徊，失去人与动物、人与大自然之间的关爱的时代为背景，探讨生命意义的电影。通过这部影片10岁的主人公桑杰卓玛寻找白牦牛的心路历程，让更多孩子懂得互相尊重、助人为乐、接近动物及大自然母亲，进一步探讨大自然、动物、人之间的生命起源到回归，以及自然万物和谐相处的哲学思想。
