龚啸山人称「癫狗」，为人火爆狂妄，一生人中只顾及妻子刘美琴（梁琤饰）、儿子龚学尧（杨明饰）和乔傲天三人。啸山自幼家贫，一心参军从政，但其性格好勇斗狠，难以控制，训练中途已被开除。辗转间，啸山遇上美琴，二人不顾美琴父母反对，珠胎暗结，私奔至上海滩头，啸山决定在此大展拳脚，打出名堂，并与傲天称兄道弟。
